This large centrifugal fan was designed and constructed by FBA for use in a dust extraction system in a South Australian Foundry. Aerofoil type blades were adapted for maximum efficiency, with the fan producing air volume of 20,000 l/s and static pressure of 9 kPa.

An auxiliary shaft was directly coupled to the main fan shaft, to enable the use of standard grease lubricated bearings, while transmitting the power of the 265 kW motor through a belt drive. This was typical of the ten fans supplied.
